Computer Technology
& Support Experiences
My experiences with computers include working on my own machines, working with home and business machines as an independent consultant, and professionally for companies as a computer consultant or technician.  These are just a few of the systems and software packages that I have used and currently use.

Computer systems that I have owned and operated
Apple Macintosh Performa 636CD -  With this system, I worked with MacOS 7.5.1 to 7.6, I learned a great deal with this machine especially about bugs in the system.  This system came with a Motorola 68LC040 processor - had a significant problem with floating point and running some calculations.
Apple Power Macintosh 4400 - With this system, I worked on MacOS 8.0 to 8.1.  This system came with a IBM/Motorola PowerPC 603e chip with 64 MB RAM.  I was waiting for the Copland operating system in vain and decided to move to PCs.
Hewlett Packard Pavilion 7320 - 80 MB RAM and Pentium running a dual boot of Windows95 and Red Hat Linux 5.1.  Deleted the partitions and made it into a Windows98 box for my sister.
Compaq Presario 5340 - 224 MB RAM, AMD K6-2 processor originally came with Windows98, and I then set it up as a dual boot with Windows NT 4.0 Workstation.  After a bit, I deleted the Win98 partition, and it was an NT Workstation until I upgraded that to newer versions of Windows. This system currently runs Windows200 Professional.
Dell Latitude C series - Pentium III with Windows2000 and XP.
Gateway E series - Pentium III with Windows2000 and XP.
Dell OptiPlex - Pentium III/IV with Windows2000 and XP.

IBM ThinkPad T-series

Apple iMac with MacOS X & MacOS 9.  I have been impressed with the latest OS from Apple and the birth of software and technologies available to the Mac platform.
